I've spent too much money on products and procedures to keep my face fresh and young, all the while, neglecting my neck & décolleté. Mind you, I'm still in my thirties and my skin looks great, but it's never to soon to implement an all-over, anti-aging routine. My décolleté looks fine (no wrinkles yet), but I do have two deep lines across my neck - I'm sure these lines are due to staring down at the phone and keyboard. Posture is not my strong suit! I initially considered cosmetic procedures, BUT due to my last two duds, I am reluctant. Both Kybella and Cool Sculpting failed to diminish unwanted fat on my chin and abdomen respectively. Maybe that's my super power - invincible fat cells! In the end, it's a lot of money wasted and minimal results. So the search to find supreme anti-aging products for the neck and décolleté begins.. Oh and I'm realizing exercise is a must for the body - there's no easy solution to reducing body fat! I've been applying Neocutis anti-aging products for years. So, of course I turned to my favorite anti-aging brand in search of an anti-wrinkle product for my neck. While perusing the internet, I also came across the "miracle" treatment - Spencer Barnes LA Neck, Chin & Jawline Instant Sculpting Wand. Sounds promising! I'm thinking these two products are gonna do wonders for my necklines.. The Spencer Barnes LA Neck, Chin & Jawline Instant Sculpting Wand claims to take 10 years off your neck, chin and jawline! That's a BIG statement. There are before and after pics on the Spencer Barnes LA site that show dramatic results, but there's no indication of how long these individuals have been using the wand? It says you will see initial results and further affects thereafter. This "no needle, no filter, no surgeon" product seems too good to be true! The sculpting wand is easy to use and the application feels nice. Just pump out the product by pressing the button on the bottom of the wand (one pump is enough) and glide the stainless silver ball along our neck, chin and jawline. Horizontal and vertical movements along your skin will ensure an even product application and the mini neck massage is kinda nice. The product has a cooling sensation and dries fairly quickly. If you need an extra boost, you can apply again five minutes later. The scent is light and swiftly diminishes - good, cause it's not so great! I did not see a dramatic transformation after the first application, or the second, third.. After many weeks, my neck lines do appear slightly less intense (maybe 20% less visible). Along with daily use of the Neocutis Micro Firm Neck & Décolleté Rejuvenating Complex, these two products are making a big difference, BUT which one is driving the anti-wrinkle bus? I really like the Neocutis Micro Firm Neck & Décolleté Rejuvenating Complex. The jar is innovative and dispenses just enough product to cover my neck & décolleté - simply remove the cover, push down on the white surface and a perfectly portioned dollop appears. Massage the rejuvenating cream along your neck & décolleté morning and night. YES, I have noticed a change in my neck wrinkles over the past month. My wrinkles appear softer and my neck more youthful. Admittedly, I use the Neocutis Micro Firm Neck & Décolleté Rejuvenating Complex everyday and the Spencer Barnes LA Neck, Chin & Jawline Sculpting Wand a few times a week - SO, I'm gonna brand the Neocutis product as the anti-aging culprit here. I've been applying Neocutis Bio Essential Lumiére Eye Cream for years. My dermatologist highly recommends this anti-aging brand. I love it and was super excited to learn that Neocutis launched a new line called Micro Essentials. I haven't swayed from my long-time serum and eye cream until now. The Neocutis Micro Eyes Rejuvenating Cream has the same consistency, barely-there scent and feel of the Bio Essentials Eye Cream. It kinda feels like the exact eye cream. Albeit, sometimes we just need a change. Whether or not it's making a difference is irrelevant, cause physiologically, it's new and supposedly making a difference. I do however like this product and have permanently swapped my Neocutis Bio Essential Lumiére Eye Cream for the Neocutis Micro Eyes Rejuvenating Cream. This product is lightweight, dries swiftly and doesn't irritate. I highly recommend applying the Micro Serum to your under eyes prior to applying the Micro Eyes rejuvenating Cream. It's the perfect anti-aging combination for the skin around your eyes. Since I was already shopping the Neocutis Micro Essentials lineup, why not get a new facial cream too!? I use Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream daily - this stuff is great under makeup and smells super fresh. But, I'm aging and realize it may be time to introduce an anti-aging facial cream. The Neocutis Micro Day Rejuvenating Cream with Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 is AMAZING! The product is lightweight and tinted. It blends nicely and gives you an immediate softer appearance. Oh, and it contains that magical Hyaluronic Acid that everyones talkin' about (insert sarcasm)! Yeah, I'm sure Hyaluronic Acid is a key ingredient in anti-aging products, but the mention of this ingredient is getting old (pun intended). I love this facial cream. I still apply Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream under makeup (I rarely wear makeup), but every other day, the Neocutis Micro Day Rejuvenating Cream with Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 is enough to brighten my complexion and nourish my skin. ![]()
I'm a huge BEAUTYBLENDER fan. I've purchased every product in the lineup and have yet to be disappointed. I'm partial to the white beautyblender, referred to as pure. I'm a clean freak and wanna see that my makeup sponge is perfectly clean after each makeup application. The beautyblender is available in a variety of colors, but after a cleansing the colored sponges, it's hard to tell if you got all the makeup off the sponge. A darker shade might be beneficial for "I don't wash my sponge daily" people - GROSS! Beutyblender 101 - don't waste your money on a beautyblender makeup application sponge if you're not going to use it properly. It is meant to be drenched in water, then squeeze out the access and use to apply your makeup. You can even apply facial oil (I like Farsali) to the wet sponge for smoother application. If you are using the sponge dry, you are wasting your money! Get yourself a less expensive makeup sponge and you'll get the same effect. Cleaning your makeup tools is of the utmost importance (in your makeup routine). I know it's annoying and time consuming, but you don't want to apply yesterdays (or last weeks) oil and dirt to your face. Eww.. The blendercleanser solid is great for travel. It includes a cleansing soap and custom grid to dry your beautyblender makeup sponge. Both products come in a compact, plastic disk for easy storage. The scent is fresh and the bar of soap lasts a long time. BEAUTYBLENDER INSTACLEAN is fairly new in the BEAUTYBLENDER lineup. The waterless cleansing spray is great for on-the-go removal of surface stains. It's like dry shampoo for your hair. While this sponge and brush cleansing spray doesn't necessarily "clean" your makeup tools, it will remove surface residue - including color, so you're not mixing shades and always getting true-color application. Spray the solution onto your application tool, saturate and wipe with a tissue or towel. It's INSTACLEAN! BEAUTYBLENDER has a variety of sponge cleansers. My favorite is the liquid blendercleanser. Apply a little cleanser to your sponge, run it under water and give it a good wash. Make sure to squeeze out the excess water and remove all the soap. This cleanser has a light scent and a little goes a long way. It's available in 3 oz, 5 oz and 10 oz. The MALLOOM Chicken Feet Power Puff Display Stands are not a BEAUTYBLENDER product, but are the perfect drying device. It's important to allow your beautyblender makeup application sponge to dry completely and this cute stand allows for an all-around dry sponge. These all-around drying racks are available at amazon.com. This is kinda strange, but the colors are randomly chosen, so you get what you get?! The footed stands are available in mint green, purple and pink. ![]()
The SPHYNX Portable Razor is great for on-the-go touchups. I'm not sure this innovative shaving device would work for an all-over shave, but the moisturizing shave bar and single blade allow you to shave missed spots with ease. This portable razor is really unique. The SPHYNX contains a tiny refillable water spray bottle, a moisturizing pre-shave bar and two single blade cartridges. Simply pop the cap off, turn the dial to your desired tool and shave away unwanted hair. The SPHYNX 3 in 1 Portable Razor Refill Pack contains four single blade cartridges and one pre-shave bar. The portable razor retails for $15 and the refill pack for $8 - not bad! You can purchase both at revolve.com. I like the little spray bottle. It's super tiny - about 1" X 1" and slides in and out of the portable shaving device easily. I'm sure I can find other uses for this little bottle. It doesn't hold very much water, but the SPHYNX is meant for touch-ups, so you don't need much. The moisturizing shave bar is infused with Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter. The scent is super-strong! Kinda reminds me of mens bar of soap - maybe Irish Spring? The masculine scented pre-shave bar and single blade cartridge are the perfect facial touch-up razor for men. Why is it that men always miss one spot? Spray a little water, smooth the shave bar along your skin and remove unwanted hair. You do not need to rinse after shaving. Surprisingly, the pre-shave bar doesn't irritate my skin AND everything irritates me (body and mind).
The single blade can manage touch-ups with ease, but I wouldn't use this blade all over. I use Venus Embrace cartridges daily. They have five blades and a ribbon of moisture. Once you've used this razor style, anything else pales in comparison. BUT, the SPHNYX is a great on-the-go, missed a spot solution. The innovative device is made of plastic and can be easily cleaned. The SPHYNX portable razor doesn't weigh much and is small enough to throw in your tote or gym bag. The dial is easy to turn and while you can watch the different tools turning, there is also embossed pics on the dial. The device has small holes along the sides, so the pre-shave bar and razor dry quickly and remain fresh. I like that! This portable razor would make a great gift. It's also available in turquoise, pink and purple. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I LOVE sweaters and boots. Summer is fun and I don't mind the barely-there outfits, but the heat is exhausting. I'm happy to invite Fall/Winter and the clothing, but will probably be complaining come March..My list this month is one of my favorites - This Dolce & Gabbana "Fashion Devotion" t-shirt (available at FARFETCH) is the perfect accessory to a chunky sweater. Paired with jeans, chic joggers or a skirt, this first layer "says a lot"! Unfortunately, it's way outta the budget, so Imma take inspiration and shop elsewhere.I have been coveting the Chloé Rylee Ankle Boot(available at FARFETCH) since the Fall/Winter 2018 show. The rubber sole and heal are perfect for snow and the military vibe pairs perfectly with cozy sweatpants. YES, I'm obsessed with chic joggers. These boots come in two styles - the ankle boot and medium (up to your calf) boot. LOVE!Another Chloé design - the Velvet Stiletto Ankle Boot(available at FARFETCH) is GORGEOUS! These boots are sophisticated and sheer perfection. The metallic heal, velvet design and crisscross straps the perfect juxtaposition - feminine and masculine. When I saw these Fendi Fur Slides(available at Mytheresa), my heart skipped beat. I know, you may hate me for loving fur, but to each his own. These super-cozy, fur slides are everything I want in a sandal. The pink and brown logo detailed fur is soft and the sole provides ample cushion. I purchased this style fur slide in a different embellishment/color scheme a few seasons ago and still love them. YES, I deserve these and I bought them for myself!I'm a Tibi fan. This brand is chic, simple, but a little different. This Tibi Cashmere V-neck Patch Pocket Oversized Pullover (available at Tibi and FARFETCH) looks so cozy. Trust me, I know Tibi - the clothing is high-quality and the knits are super comfy. I would wear this sweater over and over..I'm not a yellow fan, but am loving this Calvin Klien Roadrunner Intarsia Reversed Seam Virgin Wool Jumper (available at FARFETCH). The Looney Tunes throwback is too fun! Pair this fun fashion sweater with chic bottoms for date night, a party or casual Friday. ![]()
I have chronic insomnia - it's nuts! Some nights, I toss and turn till the sun comes up. It's definitely stress related - my brain sorts out all of life's problems while I'm trying to sleep! I do not recommend over the counter drugs or prescriptions (I'm not a doctor), but Benadryl does help and sleeping pills work wonders. Albeit, I'd prefer to take a natural path to a good nights sleep. Vitamins are outta the question - beyond Advil, I just cant swallow the giant capsules and pills. When I saw the Klova Sleep Patch on Instagram, I was intrigued. Maybe it was the color scheme? If you wanna attract customers and followers on social media - color is everything. Klova - great job with the pale blue and purple patches - the pretty shades are soothing, inviting and Instagram friendly (everyone's obsessed with a color scheme). I truly feel that some products are more successful (than they should be), because of their color scheme. I've read mixed reviews about these patches, AND, mine is leaning towards - they don't work! These patches are infused with Melatonin and naturally occurring ingredients and claim to promote a better sleep. There's is nothing natural about me, so this was bound to fail. These patches attach to your skin nicely and don't irritate. They do however smell awful! The scent is potent, but after application to hairless skin, it dissipates. Other than that, they have a cute print, but did not meet my expectations. The Hangover Patch is just what I need. I'm getting older and recovery is a long process these days. Last time I was in Vegas, I found myself at a club, in the 'mosh pit' (I'm old and don't know what you youngin's call this danger zone) and felt like I was under attack - while jumping up and down to DJ Marshmallow. Who knew there was a marshmallow head wearing DJ? Needless to say, I could barely walk the next day, YES, I was sick (in the worse sense of the word) AND my Fendi boots were destroyed! Why do I submit myself to this madness - cause in the moment, after way too many glasses of wine, it seems like a good idea to keep going. Vegas has this effect on me. I've considered the hangover drip many times! The thought of a swift recovery is intriguing, but a little scary. In comes The Hangover Patch. This 100% organic formula has 12 vitamins, antioxidants and nutrients. Apply before you start drinking and let this little patch replenish your body WHILE YOU DRINK! Alcohol has a terrible effect on the body - good for the mind and I'm sure dancing all night is great for the figure, but the dehydration and loss of essential nutrients can have a terrible effect shortly there after the party and for days.. I'm not sure if this patch is replenishing my body and don't feel any different the following day (then I typically would), but continue to use them - it's psychological! The Bytox Patch claims to aid in a rapid recovery, while replenishing essential vitamins, antioxidants and nutrients to the body. My thoughts - why not?! ![]()

On-the-go drinkware are now fashionable accessories. I consume a lot of liquid throughout the day and always have a bottle of water and cup of tea on hand. When I'm out and about, I usually opt for tea, but when I'm traveling, water is a necessity. These are my favorite glass water bottles and thermos. The SOMA Glass Water Bottle (pictured on the left) is made of shatter-resistant glass inside an easy grip sleeve. The protective sleeve comes in eight colors and slides on and off easily. It would be great if SOMA sold the sleeves separately, so you can change the color depending your mood. The bottle is slim and the cap is natural bamboo with a plastic lining - it's a classy looking water bottle. MY FAVORITE - the YETI Tumbler. This thermos will keep your cold beverages cold and hot beverages hot for a long time. You can also personalize your mug - I got this b.a.gorgie branded YETI tumbler as a gift and use it all the time. The YETI Tumbler is made of stainless steal and has a double-wall for vacuum insulation. My tea will stay hot for two hours and warm for two more. This thermos is amazing. Starbucks cups are a thing in my past. I love BKR glass water bottles. The bottle is available in 500 ml and 1 liter. Each bottle is encased in a silicone sleeve - there's many shades to choose from or you can opt for a little embellishment, like these spiked sleeves. The cap has a small handle, for easy transportation. You can also attach the bottle to your bag. The opening is super small for no-spill sipping.
You can replace the original cap with the Compact Cap and BKR Paris Water Balm. LOVE THIS! The new compact cap is a great idea, but the balm is REALLY THICK and kinda sticky. It smells like roses. I'm addicted to lip balm and am not a fan of a thick consistency or floral scents. The compact cap and balm are the perfect water bottle pal, but the balm falls short of my expectations. Of course, it's personal taste and you may like the smell of flowers on your lips!
Unfortunately, I purchased two sizes before I read this description - it clearly says rose scented. Albeit, this is a great invention. I'm hoping BKR will reinvent the balm with a lighter texture and non-floral scents. BKR also launched the Paris Water Balm Neautrals Trio - the original shade, Muse and BTS. They all have the French rose scent. These balms do not fit in the compact cap. Accessorizing your water bottle - you can also purchase little ice cube trays that make long icicles to fit in to your BKR bottle and a bottle brush for easy cleaning. I drink my water room temperature, so didn't get the ice cube tray, but really appreciate the cleaning brush. The thoughtfully designed brush follows the bottles curves, so you know your bottle is super clean. ![]()
I'm not a vegetarian, but I do dabble in the Sakara plant-rich diet once and while. I have been doing the Sakara meal plan once a month for three-five days, I'm bingeing on plants - Sometimes I cheat (but, only once a day)! There's a lot I love about this meal program, a few things I don't and some stuff I'd like to see Sakara change. Sakara is a nutrition-rich meal plan, comprised of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Like most meal delivery subscriptions, you have the option of skipping any week and you can choose between three, four and five days each week. Your food delivery will arrive in the wee hours of the night in preparation for Monday and another batch on Thursday. The food comes in plastic containers on ice and must be refrigerated immediately. Sakara just changed their containers and the new ones are SO MUCH BETTER! I struggled to get the old containers open and the new ones stack nicely. Monday's delivery includes Sakara Detox Water Concentrate and Beauty Water Concentrate, as well as Wellness Tea. Thursday's delivery includes Wellness Tea. We'll come back to these items.. The user friendly site allows you to individually customize your delivery each week by choosing breakfast, lunch, dinner or just two or all three meals. Unfortunately, the menu is what it is and you can only swap one meal per week. This is a deterrent for me - I'd like to have more meal choices. It would be great if Sakara posted a menu and allowed customers to choose their meals. Often, I'm stuck with funky food concoctions that don't appeal to me. Lets talk about the food.. There's a lot! I wouldn't consume this much food on non-Sakara days. AND, some of the meals are super heavy (in the container and in your stomach). SO, my husband and I typically do the five day option and share the food, while subsidizing the diet with store bought produce and other items. This is great, cause he eats the meals I don't like! It also helps with the cravings, cause we're not going full-on vegetarian for five days. The food is surprisingly delicious. I say that because, some of it doesn't look so great, but looks can be deceiving. There's a lot of flavor and wide range of plant-rich foods in every meal.
My favorite are the muesli or granola with Pink Silk Mylk or Blue Majic Mylk. These 'milks' are delicious and kinda fun. The Pink Silk Mylk is subtly sweet with a smidge of saltiness (my favorite). If I could buy these Sakara Mylks, I would stock up every week and eat breakfast more often (I never eat breakfast). I also love the coconut yogurts with granola. I don't do sweets, but would eat this yogurt for breakfast and dessert a few times a week. DELICIOUS! The other breakfast options - tartines, muffins and bars are a hit or miss for me. I find the bars super-heavy for breakfast and a little dry, but they are tasty. These breakfasts are usually accompanied by a jam and berries or a mini fruit. Each meal is labelled for a specific day and meal - breakfast, lunch and dinner. I mix it up and always eat the most appealing meals first. The soups are excellent, very flavorful and not too filling. They're often accompanied with a small salad. The salad dressings are yummy. I'm a salad person and a big fan of fresh salad dressings. The main course salads never disappoint. Of course, there's leaves and sometimes berries, nuts, quinoa and veggies. I love the avocado smothered in seeds (I forget what it's called). My favorite salad is the Youth + Beauty Salad. These salads will last me for lunch and leftovers with dinner - there's a lot. One thing is for sure, you will not be hungry on this plant-rich diet. The flatbreads are delicious. Usually there is 'faux' cheese and savory pesto, along with veggies. The Sakara burgers are comprised of the same signature bread. It's like eating condensed seed bread. Very heavy! I've had three pastas and love the wild mushroom pasta and the pesto with tomatoes pasta. I was super excited to try the Sakara-Style Pasta Bolognese (swapped out another meal for two portions of this one), but it was too bizarre for my taste. These bowls of pasta are way too much for one meal, especially lunch. Some of the bowls/meals are strange and a little too mushy for me. I don't eat mush - no bananas, soggy salads, sautéed greens.. Some of the meals have sautéed spinach at the bottom - eww! While the flavor is great, anything with a 'wet' texture goes on the husbands menu. He enjoys them very much, BUT he would literally eat anything! The Sakara plant-rich diet, meal plan is SUPER expensive. I always say, eating healthy costs a lot of money, so this doesn't surprise me. I do wish subscribers had more options with food selection. AND, I am reluctant to spend so much, when I can't remove meals that don't appeal to me. The Detox Water Concentrate and Beauty Water Concentrate come in a glass bottle with a dropper. Simply add the concentrate to your water as part of your Sakara diet. I really like the Detox Water Concentrate - its barely there flavor is suitable (I love water and don't like adding flavor) and contains Chlorophyll + 72 trace minerals - nothing wrong with that! The Beauty Water Concentrate contains Silca + Rose and 72 trace minerals. It tastes like flowers - GROSS! I once requested to swap out the Beauty Water Concentrate for an additional Detox Water Concentrate, but Sakara feels that both concentrates are essential to the diet. More money wasted! The Wellness Tea doesn't taste very good either. I'm a HUGE tea fan, but this has a black tea flavor and is too strong. I never drink it and am always offering it to other people. I do feel better after a few days of consuming plant-rich meals. I feel like I ate too much, but the idea of pumping my body with nutrition-rich food gives me a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Albeit, once a month is enough for me! ![]()
