I'm a detox anything and everything fan - Detox tea, juicing, herbal supplements and more recently, my scalp and hair. Admittedly, I've been lazy in the self-care department, but as of late have been implementing changes to better myself inside and out. I finally mustered up the strength and dedicated myself to a daily exercise routine. I HATE IT! People who say exercising feels good confuse me. Albeit, I'm loosing weight and I love that my clothes are ill-fitting. Other than the intense workout at 8:00 am (I feel like I'm being punished), my hair routine is also suffering. I used to scrub my scalp and strands every third day, but I'm sweating and my hair requires a wash every other day - dry shampoo and a sweaty scalp is a cocktail for gross! My hair is supper oily to begin with, but after 10 minutes on the squat machine and 3 rounds of "9 Exercises to get a flatter stomach", all I wanna do is shower and wash my hair. BUT, I'm lazy! Every other day, I give my head a intense scrub and once a week, I detox my scalp - It's the best feeling. I've tried scalp exfoliators and oils, but they often smell strong, like Tea Tree Oil (eew). In fact, most detox haircare products have an overpowering scent.
If I walk my Toy Poodle before I shower day two, I'll sprite a little product on the back of my scalp to give my limp pony tail and loose strands a little texture. Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Texture Spray is not a detox product, but rather a dry texturizing spray. The scent is fresh and the light product leaves your hair feeling a little aired-out. This stuff is great for volumizing clean hair too. LOVE! For dry shampoo, my go-to brand is IGK. First Class, Direct Flight, Jet Lag and Fresh AF reign supreme in the kingdom of dry shampoo. IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo is my favorite on the IGK shelf. The scent is strong, but nice and I like that it contains charcoal. Activated Charcoal absorbs - you can drink it, brush your teeth with it and apply to your hair and scalp to absorb the excess oil. IGK First Class Dry Shampoo cleanses your hair, absorbs oil and eliminates odor. Spray the product on to your roots (oily areas) and leave for 10 min (to get the cooling, cleansing affect). THEN, turn your head upside down, massage and shake to distribute and remove access product. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Triple Detox Shampoo has a super-strong scent, but it dissipates throughout the day. The Activated Charcoal infused shampoo smells like lemons and leaves your hair feeling fresh. This shampoo also has a patented healthy hair molecule (OFPMA) that fights off dirt and and oil, leaving your hair cleaner for a longer period of time. This shampoo stinks, but it works and has landed a permanent spot in my weekly haircare routine. Triple Detox Shampoo is available in 160 ml and a travel-size 60 ml (love that). I suggest you purchase the smaller tube and give it a try..
I'm a HUGE fan of Bumble and Bumble hair products. I've tried almost everything on the roster. This one however fell short of my expectations and gave me a headache! The potent scent of Bb. Scalp Detox is unbearable! You could use this stuff in warfare! And of course, I got the product all over my hands and clothes while trying to capture a pic of the foam. I had to take a shower and quarantine my photo studio until the smell dissipated. Whether or not it works - I can't say from experience. BUT, Bb. Scalp Detox is a 2018 Best of Beauty Allure Award winner. AND, I gave this fizzing, detoxifying foam to my girlfriend and she loved it!? If you can handle the scent or maybe even like it, this may be the perfect scalp detox solution for you. Bumble and Bumble is a premiere haircare brand and I'm confident that everything in the lineup is amazing. Fingers crossed Bumble and Bumble will launch scent-free haircare..
I LOVE this Invisibobble Sprunchie. I have very fine, short hair and I prefer to wear my hair off my face, but my pony tail is pathetic! This black, velvet- like sprunchie (love the name) stays put and makes my up-do appear fuller. I wrap it once and then tuck my hair in and wrap again to create a messy, mini-bun. My hair is black, so the sprunchie blends well. I can't believe this innovative Invisibobble has been sitting in my studio for months (unused). I need to work faster on these reviews. This sprunchie is a must-have! 
I'm a huge BEAUTYBLENDER fan. I've purchased all but one product in the lineup and have yet to be disappointed. The beautyblender cosmetic sponge is available in two sizes - original and micro.mini. The smaller beautyblender is one-quarter the size of the original and perfect for blending makeup in small areas. The beautyblender is also available in a variety of colors - green, black, blue, nude, white, gray and shades of pink. The lineup also includes innovative tools and cleansers. Liquid Blendercleanser, Blendercleanser Solid and Instaclean Sponge and Brush Cleansing Spray all do a great job cleaning your cosmetic sponge. I use the solid while traveling - it comes in a plastic case and has a custom grid for drying. The liquid is my favorite. A little goes a long way and the scent is refreshing. The Instaclean Sponge and Brush Cleansing Spray is for quick removal of surface stains, so you get true-to-color application. It's like dry shampoo for your beautyblender. BEAUTYBLENDER also has Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation (haven't tried this one yet), Blender Defender Beautyblender Protective Case (LOVE this - great for travel), Liner.Designer Pro (for perfect eye liner application) and the Power Pocket Puff (a double-sided puff used for powder formulas). I'm awarding BEAUTYBLENDER Outstanding Makeup Tools of 2018.
The Best Eye-Care Award goes to Lumify Redness Relief Eye Drops. These eye drops selectively target redness for whiter, brighter eyes. The unique formulation targets redness, while still allowing oxygen and nutrition to the eye, eliminating the risk of re-bound redness. This stuff is AMAZING! It starts working within one minute and last for hours. Bausch + Lomb claims it lasts up to 8 hours. It doesn't last that long for me, but I'm sure each person is unique. Albeit, the bottle is small, so you can take it everywhere and apply the drops on an as needed basis. The downside to the small bottle is that it doesn’t last long. Here's where my product hoarding, cosmetic junkie quirk benefits me - after the first application and miraculous transformation, I purchased five bottles (just in case it sells out).
Another amazing anti- redness solution - It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Correcting cream. I have 'officially' (nothing I declare is really official) branded this product the 'anti-redness warpaint'. If you have Rosacea or hyper pigmentation, this stuff is going to change your life. Bye Bye Redness by IT Cosmetics deserves the Bye Bye Redness Award. It's kind of a foundation, primer and cream in one. Bye Bye Redness is thick, has a silky texture and gives you super full-coverage. This product is smooth, goes on like a primer (similar to Colorscience primers), and has a tinge of green (to combat redness). Apply to your cheeks, nose and forehead, and blend outwards. AND little goes a long way.
I know I've exhausted the Sol de Janeiro lineup and posted too many reviews, BUT I'm addicted and had to award the BUM BUM Body Cream and Brazilian Kiss Cupuacu Lip Butter Best Nourishing Products of 2018. The pistachio-caramel scent of Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is delicious! The scent is strong, but sweet and intriguing. The cream is super-nourishing and has a slight shimmer that gives your skin a subtle glow.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Cupuacu Lip Butter is one of my favorite lip balms - I have one in my bathroom, one at my computer and one in my handbag! The light, creamy texture is nourishing and the tube is BIG, so it will last a long time. This super-hydrating lip balm is a must have.
I'm a Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil super-fan and have tried a ridiculous number of other shampoos and conditioners, but always go back to Bb. Not this time - Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo and No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner have landed a permanent spot in my haircare routine.

This twist-up, crayon-like Bb. color stick is the perfect root touch-up product and worthy of the Quick Fix Award. I hate when my roots show, and admittedly, I have three grays (that I can see)! I dye my hair every three weeks, so my roots are maintained. I do however have very fine hair, and this color stick is great for filling in sparse areas. Just glide the twist-up pencil along your hair for perfect coverage.
The Beauty From Within Award goes to SkinnyMint Tea. The two-step detox program is comprised of 28 day teas and 14 night teas (for every second night). I'm a huge BEAUTYBLENDER fan. I've purchased every product in the lineup and have yet to be disappointed. I'm partial to the white beautyblender, referred to as pure. I'm a clean freak and wanna see that my makeup sponge is perfectly clean after each makeup application. The beautyblender is available in a variety of colors, but after a cleansing the colored sponges, it's hard to tell if you got all the makeup off the sponge. A darker shade might be beneficial for "I don't wash my sponge daily" people - GROSS! Beutyblender 101 - don't waste your money on a beautyblender makeup application sponge if you're not going to use it properly. It is meant to be drenched in water, then squeeze out the access and use to apply your makeup. You can even apply facial oil (I like Farsali) to the wet sponge for smoother application. If you are using the sponge dry, you are wasting your money! Get yourself a less expensive makeup sponge and you'll get the same effect.
Cleaning your makeup tools is of the utmost importance (in your makeup routine). I know it's annoying and time consuming, but you don't want to apply yesterdays (or last weeks) oil and dirt to your face. Eww.. The blendercleanser solid is great for travel. It includes a cleansing soap and custom grid to dry your beautyblender makeup sponge. Both products come in a compact, plastic disk for easy storage. The scent is fresh and the bar of soap lasts a long time.
BEAUTYBLENDER INSTACLEAN is fairly new in the BEAUTYBLENDER lineup. The waterless cleansing spray is great for on-the-go removal of surface stains. It's like dry shampoo for your hair. While this sponge and brush cleansing spray doesn't necessarily "clean" your makeup tools, it will remove surface residue - including color, so you're not mixing shades and always getting true-color application. Spray the solution onto your application tool, saturate and wipe with a tissue or towel. It's INSTACLEAN! BEAUTYBLENDER has a variety of sponge cleansers. My favorite is the liquid blendercleanser. Apply a little cleanser to your sponge, run it under water and give it a good wash. Make sure to squeeze out the excess water and remove all the soap. This cleanser has a light scent and a little goes a long way. It's available in 3 oz, 5 oz and 10 oz.
The MALLOOM Chicken Feet Power Puff Display Stands are not a BEAUTYBLENDER product, but are the perfect drying device. It's important to allow your beautyblender makeup application sponge to dry completely and this cute stand allows for an all-around dry sponge. These all-around drying racks are available at amazon.com. This is kinda strange, but the colors are randomly chosen, so you get what you get?! The footed stands are available in mint green, purple and pink.

I'm reaching new heights (literally) with IGK Direct flight Multi-Tasking Dry Shampoo and 30,000 Feet Volume Powder Spray. Going back to the 'root' of dry shampoo, this 'weightless' powder lifts roots with Bentonite Clay. This stuff is amazing. The concept is old, but the application is innovative. The powder comes in a small bottle that lightly sprays the product on your roots. I have color-treated black hair and am weary of styling powders. Traces of powder is embarrassing, but this invisible 30,000 Feet Powder Spray is kinda undetectable (unless you touch your hair). This stuff leaves a heavy film on your strands. Yeah, you'll achieve great heights, but it feels gross! AND, you'll definitely have to wash your hair the next day. 30,000 Feet Volume Powder Spray is great for styling, but a bit heavy for me.
IGK released First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo and Direct Flight Multi-Tasking Dry Shampoo together and I love the results from both products. Choosing between the two came down to scent. The First Class Dry Shampoo has a strong scent that lingers.. Both dry shampoos contain charcoal powder - an oil absorbing, odor eliminating, volumizing super powder. The First Class has seven percent powders, while the Direct Flight has three - I guess that means the First Class is the stronger of the two? It also contains White Tea to sooth your scalp. Direct Flight Multi-Tasking Dry Shampoo contains Turmeric for a medium cleanse, that extends your style for at least a day. I have super-oily hair and gaining one extra day is appreciated. I'm more inclined to use this dry shampoo on clean hair for texture and volume. After styling my hair, I spray my roots, let it sit for a minute and comb through. I've been doing this volumizing trick for years and it makes a HUGE difference. The scent is strong, but nice. First Class and Direct Flight are available in travel size, so I recommend you try the minis before committing. The downside to dry shampoo and volumizing powder or any hairstyling product is the buildup on your strands and scalp. A deep cleanse every few washes is necessary. IGK Low Key Cleasing Walnut Scalp Scrub removes buildup, exfoliates your scalp and refreshes your hair. I received this trial size cooling scalp shampoo with a Sephora purchase and LOVE it. This purifying shampoo contains Apple Cider Vinegar to cleanse your scalp and Walnut Oil to nourish your strands. Your hair and scalp feel super-clean and the scent is refreshing. I have oily hair, but my scalp gets dry?! Exfoliating with Low Key removes dry skin, leaving my scalp looking healthy.
IGK Swipe Up No-Frizz Smoothing Hair Wipes smell amazing! I'm so picky about scented products and love this smell. These portable wipes contain Avocado and Camellia Oils to combat static. I NEED THIS! My hair is super fine and I often get static (especially in hotels). Typically, I would use static guard - yup, the static spray used for clothing, but these individually wrapped wipes have forever changed my anti-static methods. You can feel the oils on the wipe, but it glides on nicely, absorbs and feels weightless on your hair and scalp. LOVE!
Hairstyling wipes are innovative and great for the on-the-go styling and touch-ups. Just toss a few in your handbag and refresh on-demand. IGK Swipe Up Charcoal Dry Shampoo Hair Blotting Tissues are convenient and effective. Upon opening the packet, micro powder particles disappear into the air - the activated black charcoal powder absorbs oil and doesn't leave any residue. The scent is a bit strong, but is dissipates quickly. Gently press the coated side of the wipe against your scalp and hair for immediate oil-absobtion. You can see the oil on the blotting tissue and may need more than one to combat super oily hair - These Swipe Up tissues are small. 
During Fall and Winter, I don my signature pistachio and salted caramel scent by Sol de Janeiro. The scent is warm, yummy and anything but floral. In keeping with the spirit of nutty scents, this Spring and summer, I'm loading up on Coconut scented cosmetics and flavored products. I am a HUGE fan of coconut (anything coconut). I LOVE fresh coconut water - I put it in my smoothies or drink it straight up (and maybe with a little rum). The sweet, nutty aroma is alluring and reminds me of the beach. I've comprised a list of coconut scented and flavored products that you will get you into the summer groove.. and escape from the end of winter, 'please make it stop' blues. Sephora has a small line-up of coconut infused products, AND they're amazing. Sephora Coconut Water Dry Shampoo and Coconut Dry Conditioner are my favorite in-between washes solution. The dry shampoo smells great, goes on light and doesn't leave a great amount of residue. Often dry shampoo leaves your hair feeling dirty - not this stuff. Sephora Coconut Water Dry Shampoo is probably not as effective as the most dry shampoos, but it does a good job without leaving our hair feeling gross. I use this for a little extra volume after washing my hair. AND the sent is delicious. Sephora Coconut Dry Conditioner nourishes and repairs your strands. The solution is silky and kind of oily, BUT there's no oily residue and it absorbs nicely. Apply the Coconut Water Dry Shampoo to your roots and Coconut Dry Conditioner from mid-length to ends for more resistant, hydrated, shinier hair. Sephora Coconut Water Cleaning Wipes are my favorite facial wipe. I wash my face with cleansing oil in the AM and facial soap at night, but these wipes are perfect for refreshing your neck and décolletage in between. I wash my hair every three days, so my ears and hairline don't get scrubbed under my shower cap. These wipes allow me to clean and refresh without wetting my hair. The moist wipes smell fresh and sweet. The solution is non-oily and leaves your skin feeling clean. LOVE! I've mentioned the Sephora Coconut Water Lip Balm a few times and highly recommend the inexpensive lip treatment. It smells great, the texture is thick but silky and the solution leaves your lips feeling hydrated and protected. I'm a lip balm fanatic (among other things) and this one is in my top five must-have lip balms. Don't be discourage by the cheap'ish' packaging, this product is high-quality.
Coconut scented sunscreen is the epitome of vacation on the beach - unless you opt for the 'doctor recommended' scent-free product, then you just smell like medicated cream (no judgement). I want to smell like coconuts all summer long. The scent is sweet and feminine. AND research shows that people (especially men) are attracted to sweet scents. Who doesn't love the smell of baked cookies?!
Another great travel product is Kopari Coconut Balm. The thick solution is coconut-oil infused and super nourishing. This pure coconut balm contains coconut oil, shea concentrate, aloe vera, beeswax and cocoa seed butter. This salve has anti-ageing benefits and hydrating qualities. It goes on nicely, kind of absorbs, but leaves a little sheen on your skin. I wouldn't wear this coconut balm under expensive fabric. The scent is delicious - coconut (with an emphasis on the nutty).
Cocofloss Fresh Coconuts flavored floss smells amazing. The soft, waxed coated floss contains coconut oil and coconut fragrance. The floss texture is nice and leaves your teeth feeling clean and refreshed. Cocofloss has three other floss flavors - Delicious Mint, Pure Strawberries and Cara Cara Orange. Fresh Coconuts is my favorite and goes nicely with my HiSmile coconut flavored mouthwash.
This coconut flavored, whitening mouthwash is interesting to say the least - AND, oh so yummy! Squeeze 1/3 of the tube into your mouth and swish. The thick solution becomes thin and oily as you squish it around. The transition is a nice sensation in your mouth. The coconut oil utilizes the method of oil pulling to extract toxins and the Sodium Bicarbonate whitens your teeth. This stuff is amazing! I love HiSmile whitening products (so does everyone else on social media). This small product line took over Instagram with the no pain or sensitivity whitening system. The LED light and rubber-like mouth tray fit nicely and brighten your smile naturally. I've tried similar whitening systems, but this one reigns supreme. 
It's been fifteen months, and I'm still recovering from my botched hair-dye job! Imma spare you the rant and just say, I tried to go from black to blonde and it was a total fail. In the process of repairing my strands, I've spent countless dollars on masks, and the famed Olaplex. In the past few months, I finally feel like my hair has come to a point where hydrating masks and repair products are no longer necessary - it's all about letting my hair grow now.. I do however like to boost my strands moisture once a week with super nourishing Bumble and Bumble Gentle Shampoo and Rich Conditioner. The shampoo gently cleanses, hydrates and leaves your hair silky and shiny. The Rich conditioner restores luster and bounce. These products combined leave your hair feeling super-nourished and crazy soft.
Bumble and Bumble just released another amazing hair product - Prêt-à-powder Très Invisible (nourishing) Dry Shampoo. If you're a Bb fan you know that the original Prêt-à-powder is equal parts dry shampoo, style extender and volumizer. The original comes in a powder format, smells nice and absorbs oil quickly. The powder is tricky though - you gotta make sure it's absorbed and not visible (especially on dark colored hair). In comes the new and improved Prêt-à-powder Dry Shampoo. It cleanses roots and extends your style. It is practically invisible and nourishes your hair. The scent is strong, but diminishes quickly. I'd rather the original powder scent in the new Prêt-à-powder dry shampoo, but Bumble and Bumble didn't consult me on the one! LOVE this product. 
I've been a Sephora Beauty Insider for almost ten years! I have a ridiculous amount of points. I used to spend my points on deluxe-size samples and cosmetic sets - Earlier this year, Sephora launched 'Rewards Bazaar'. The revised membership program drops amazing one-of-a-kind experiences, services from Sephora, as well as other top brands, and deluxe-size samples and sets every Tuesday and Thursday. I guess I'm not the only Insider with an enormous amount of points, and they had to create a platform for all the product junkies to spend their points. Rewards Bazaar rewards range from 100 - 15,000 points (so the site claims)! BUT, I recall seeing rewards upwards of 30,000 points. SO YOU KNOW - for every dollar spent at Sephora, you get one point. This program is brilliant, and makes being a loyal Sephora customer worth every dollar spent. These epic rewards go fast. I had my eye on a Wildfox + Sole dutch-style bicycle. I had to have this bike - Every Tuesday and Thursday, I sat at my computer and waited for the new rewards to appear (refreshing the site often). These rewards drop between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm PT. I almost had the bicycle.. It was in my cart, and by the time I reviewed all the other products and chose samples, the bike was sold out. WHAT THE F**K - it was in my cart. Apparently, these rewards cannot be reserved and held in your cart for even a minute. Only 15 bikes for 5000 points, and they were sold out in three minutes!
I'll admit, I'm a bit stingy with my points. I'm not gonna spend them on just anything. A few months ago I snagged the IGK Great Escape Hair Set (pictured here). Luxury hairstyling brand, IGK, was founded by in-demand stylists from Miami, New York, and Los Angeles. YOU GOTTA VIEW THESE GUYS ONLINE! These stylists are really fascinating and their individual styles are so intriguing. I'd fly across the country and break the bank to get an appointment with any of these stylists - maybe Aaron, Franck, Chase or Leo can recommend a solution for my 'forevermore' damaged bob. Yeah, I tried to go blonde last June and am still suffering the consequences. This modern product line has something for every hair trend. My hair is damaged, so I can't experiment with hair products too much. I try and stick to nourishing products, but I do spritz on a little dry shampoo or dirty spray once in a while. When I get my healthy, silky stands back, I'm gonna indulge in all the IGK products.
The Down & Out Dirty Spray is a great styling product. I have a bob (well kinda) - more like a damaged shag! This spray adds texture and volume. The only downside is that my hair has to be washed the next day. My hair looks really greasy and dirty the morning after applying it. I love this product, but just gotta plan the application prior to a wash. The Dirty & Out spray also comes in a travel size.
The Prenup Instant Spray Hair Mask is my favorite. The LA scent is sweet and soft. The application is easy - wash your hair, apply the product (it's a 360 aerosol spray), wait a minute and rinse. Your hair will feel so soft and nourished. If this mask can combat my dry, damaged hair, it will do wonders for the average mane. I LOVE this product.
The Jet Lag Invisible Shampoo works great to soak up the oil and create volume, but I'm hesitant to use anything that has 'dry' in the label too often. The scent is nice, but a little strong. I'd prefer this product to smell like the Prenup instant spray hair mask. The Laid-Back Defrizz and Anti-Static Spray has dropped from heaven and answered my hair-static prayers. If you have fine hair, you know static can be super f**king annoying. I used to use Static Guard (yes, the anti-static material spray) on my hair to combat static, but am happy to have a 'hair' styling product replacement. The MIA scent is sweet and subtle. I LOVE this product. Yeah, these products are expensive, but worth it. There's 24+ IGK hair styling products, including styling, shampoo and conditioners. You can purchase IGK luxury hairstyling products at Sephora. 
 I'm packing for Santorini, Greece (YAY!) and thought I'd share with you my summer vacation essential cosmetics list and vacation beauty advise. Rule #1 - keep your makeup natural and your routine simple.  I recently read an article about the misuse of dry shampoo (I can't recall where I read it though). As do many of you, I applied dry shampoo in the morning when my hair was oily and immediately brushed it through. I've learned that you should apply dry shampoo at your roots before bed - this will allow time for the dry shampoo to combat the oil while you sleep and in the a.m. your hair will look fresh (as fresh as it can be with dry shampoo). This method works great - the results are fresh hair, no oil and less of the heavy residue feel you get with applying in the morning. I use Bumble and Bumble prêt-á-powder at night - it's too heavy for daily morning use, but a great sleep-on-it dry shampoo.
