Layers are a must during the winter season. Here are some tips on how to stay warm and still look chic while out and about in cold weather. Try layering different textures in various neutral colors. Pictured here: black faux leather leggings, white cotton t-shirt, cropped wool cable knit sweater and pink fur coat. There are no rules that say you have to wear dark colors during the winter, so opt for a light pink or peach color to brighten up your look. With all those layers on top, you need to elongate your bottom with fitted pants in a dark color. Booties and knee high boots in a similar color to your pants will make your legs appear longer. Cover your neck with a scarf and don't forget your wool mittens (cause their cute). Trust me, it's warm and super cozy inside all these layers.

I ordered a pair of Sandy Leggings by Mother from Revolve thinking leggings don't look great on me, but I'll try them anyway. I am beyond impressed with the fit of these leggings - my butt has never looked so good! The material resembles matte faux leather and looks great under a long shirttail button-down and a comfy wool cardigan. Leather pants are on trend this season, but too expensive - the Sandy legging is a great alternative. Splurge and get yourself a pair of these leggings, you will luv them!

NYFW News: WWD recently reported that Mercedes Benz will not be affiliated with New York Fashion Week after this season. There is speculation that they will sponsor MADE Fashion Week; a younger, modern alternative to NYFW. Many designers have opted to showcase at MADE and other downtown NY locations over the years. Although many brands are seeking alternative events, classic American labels such as DKNY, Donna Karen, Calvin Klein Collection and Michael Kors will showcase at NYFW Fall/Winter 2015.

The denim midi skirt has secured a spot as one of the top denim trends of 2015. The 70's inspired midi skirt seen on many runways for pre-fall went from below the knee, all the way down to the floor. The skirt was shown with buttons, seams, in many shades and in a variety of silhouettes.
How to wear this trend:

The much anticipated collection by Alexa Chung for Adriano Goldschmied is now available on-line at NET-A-PORTER, Matchesfashion and Mytheresa. The 20 piece collection will be available in stores on January 20th. British model and fashion icon Alexa Chung has collaborated with denim brand AG to create a casual collection with a 60's vibe of denim jeans (of course), short dresses, overalls and a mini skirt, as well as sweaters and t-shirts. Alexa Chung has a unique personal style coveted by many, including myself! I've been checking on-line daily for additional items to become available (it's selling out faster than I search). I have to have the denim shirtdress and denim skirt overall.. wish me luck.
