My Must-Haves

May 22, 2017

Spring is here - aka - 'pedicures are necessary weather'. It's time to let your feet breathe a little, and show off Springs favorite shoes. There are so many styles to choose from this season - it's kinda all over the place. While I usually opt for sneakers, heels are making a comeback on my shoe rack. These are my favorites (so far).

The t-strap and nude color of Francesco Russo ankle length sandals (available at FARFETCH) will elongate your legs dramatically. The wide vamp is comfy - in 4" heels, you need that extra support. Pair with skirts or cropped trousers. Fendi stripped cropped trousers, and a loose silk camisole would look amazing with these sandals.

These Gianna Meliani flamingo print feather sandals (available at FARFETCH) are EVERYTHING - the printed tie wraps above your ankle to elongate your legs, the flamingo print is fun, feminine and pretty, and the pink feathers - LOVE! These are statement sandals.

My favorite shoe this season is Stuart Weitzman's Nudistsong sandal. This style is flattering, feminine and comes in many colors. I purchased the Nudistsong sandal in Azure (pictured). This pale shade of blue will look great on sun-kissed skin. The shoe runs narrow (and I have small feet), so I recommend opting for the 'wide' fit.

Yeah, the weather is heating up, but booties are still an essential Spring shoe. These Chloé fringe open toe booties (available at FARFETCH) are sexy and who doesn't love fringe. Pair with high-waisted denim shorts (I'm not talking booty baring shorts), and a simple top (maybe a tee), or a loose, floral print dress. This fringe will sway while you walk..

Express Dry Your Polish?

March 11, 2016
Sephora Express Dry nail drying spray claims to dry nails in one minute. First and foremost, I purchased this spray in Europe and there are no english directions on the bottle? I translated the directions off sephora.fr (France) and determined the application process. After three coats of polish, I applied the spray liberally (from 30 cm away) and waited a few minutes. My nails were still tacky after five minutes. My KOH Essential Nail Serum dries them in no time, so I was disappointed to find that this 'nail drying' product didn't meet my expectations.

The Promenade de la Croisette

November 25, 2014

The Promenade de la Croisette in Cannes, France just became one of my favorite streets to shop. Boulevard de la Croisette is a mere 3 km lined with premiere shops, hotels, restaurants and casinos. Oh and it happens to run along the Mediterranean Sea and overlooks hundreds of fabulous yachts. It is so beautiful, quaint and special - it's almost too perfect!

The premiere designer shops are small box-like stand alone stores. I have never seen a shopping district like this before. Premiere designer stores are usually very large and impressive from the street view, but the stores in Cannes were small and quaint. Even more surprising was the service I received from the sales personal (and store security); everyone was friendly! This is not common in most premiere designer stores. The sales people at Louis Vuitton and Fendi were welcoming, attentive and provided exceptional service. It makes your shopping experience so much better when people treat you nicely - and you're more likely to return to that location in the future *something all sales personnel should keep in mind.

I always visit the premiere designer district in every city, even if only for a coffee and to watch the shoppers go by. The Promenade de la Croisette in Cannes has left an impression on me - I'm already talking about visiting again next summer!
